We have strong connections to the communities where we spent our childhood. That’s why when Pittsburghers meet someone, we often ask: Where did you grow up? In that spirit, Pittsburgh Magazine asked everyone from actors and artists to journalists and an Olympic athlete to tell us what it was like growing up in their neighborhoods. They come from places that range from Cranberry to Bloomfield. A couple of them still live in the houses their parents owned. All of them have a strong link to the place they called home.
