Exciting Daily Activities

Head to the Aviary’s Condor Court for a brand-new Colorful Kings Talk. Learn all about the dynamic King Vulture, and how their coloring makes this species the most vibrant of all vultures! Then visit Penguin Point, where the Aviary’s two newest juvenile penguins recently joined the rest of the colony. See them stand out in their grey-white plumage against a sea of tuxedoed black-and-white adult African Penguins.

New and Returning Live Shows

Awe-inspiring live rooftop bird show SkyDeck, presented by Pittsburgh International Airport is BACK for the summer only! Experience the thrill of Lanner Falcons and Black Kites painting the sky in hues of dark brown and gray as they show off their incredible speed and agility flying just inches above your head!

Guest-favorite live immersive bird show, Habitat Heroes, presented by AAA Travel will have you on the edge of your seat; watch as a color palette of bird species, like brightly-hued macaws and a mottled, brownish Eurasian Eagle-Owl soar above your head while showing off their incredible “superpower” adaptations! Learn what makes these birds superheroes, and how you can be one, too by doing your part to protect endangered species like the ones at the National Aviary.

Play Space Fun!

Create your own hued masterpiece with giant magnetic tiles; make your drawing come to life… then display your work of art on a “gallery” wall! Kids can put on a colorful puppet show in thrilling Avian Puppet Theater!

So head down to the North Side, snap photos at the Aviary’s outdoor photo stand-in, and enjoy new and returning programming that’s fun for kids and adults alike, this summer only at the National Aviary!
