On Wednesday, February 7 Pittsburgh Magazine hosted its annual Pittsburgher of the Year celebration in the Left Field Lounge at PNC Park. The event honored Andrew McCutchen, who became the face of the Pittsburgh Pirates when he helped the team snap its 20-year losing streak, transforming the Bucs into a playoff team from 2013 through 2015. And he helped revive fan enthusiasm and the team’s on-field performance yet again in 2023, when he rejoined the Pirates amid great fanfare. For his devotion to the Steel City, his elite athletic achievements and his continued giving spirit, Pittsburgh Magazine has selected Andrew McCutchen as Pittsburgher of the Year for 2023.
